Resfly was launched in October of 2011 by company president Asim Baig. Asim Baig was also the president of CATS Software, which created the CATS applicant tracking software for employers. Within months of the launch, Resfly was being used by more than 300 companies and the number continued to grow.
Resfly seeks to help employers manage the entire hiring process without ever having to leave their internet browser. In that sense, it is more convenient than a lot of competing apps. Another outstanding feature of Resfly is that it allows employers to see video interviews with potential candidates before deciding whether to start the interview process. This can save employers time that would otherwise be wasted on interviewing unsuitable candidates.
The app is simple to use. It mainly functions with drop-down menus and blank boxes for information. To screen applicants with custom and automatic online interviews, for example, users write a question in a box and select whether the answer is multiple choice, yes or no, or other. From there, they fill in the possible correct answers. Unlike some other competing apps that require an IT assistant to install and maintain, this one can be done by a person with little to no IT knowledge at all.
To register, click the Sign Up bottom on the upper right hand corner of the app's main page. From there, it will take you to an online registration form. You must fill in your first and last name, your company name, a password and some basic details about your company. The app is only for companies seeking to hire and the registration process leaves that clear. When registering, companies must also pick a subdomain name that will serve as their company home on the app.
People considering using the app can have a five-day free trial. After that, they must switch to a paid version or stop using the app. The prices for the paid versions range from $49 a month to $189 a month. The $49 a month allows public posting of up to three jobs at the same time, while the most expensive version allows up to 50 jobs at the same time. There is also an $89 version which allows 10 jobs at a time and a $139 version that allows 20 jobs. All versions allow an unlimited number of users and an unlimited number of candidates.
The app is suitable for any company large enough to have a steady turnover of employees. Besides helping them advertising job openings, it helps them screen out applicants. This is particularly useful for companies that post high-profile or highly specific jobs that are regularly swamped with unsuitable candidates.
